Sharing Ideas & Skills

This week I visited staff and students at The Melbourne University Graduate School of Education to talk about working with lino printmaking in the classroom and continuing to make art whilst working as a teacher. It was an absolute pleasure to meet the students and staff and share my love of printmaking with future art teachers! Fridge Magnet Artworks

The final stage of this Lino project with my very talented Grade 6 class was made today after school. I wanted to give them a little present after all their hard work. I made each student a mini fridge magnet of their hand coloured Lino prints, which I did by scanning in their prints, printed them on glossy photo paper, stuck onto magnet paper, then cut out with scissors. Easy peasy, and I think they are going to LOVE them! #artteacher #artteacherlife #linoprint #australianfood #primaryart #gradesixart #printmaking

Planning Planning!

Planning my next project! I'm not usually this careful with a drawing before I transfer it to the lino, but I'm trying to be better at planning, which will hopefully lead to few frustrations later in the project! Not sure if I'm going to do a reduction print or keep it black and white, but I'm slowly getting somewhere with it! #pigeongillian #planningahead #printmaking #blackandwhite #cactus #drawing
