Paper Cutting
Cutting paper this afternoon after a big paper delivery recently! It's more time consuming and tiring than it really should be, but I'm about half way through!

Multi Block Vegemite Print
I finally got the second layer of my Vegemite lino print cut out last night, and got a sneaky hour to do a few test prints this afternoon while Alice had her nap.
I'm still not sure of what colours to use for an edition, but I don't think it will be the pink!
This is a 'Ghost Print'.....I quite like this one!!!....

'Dad' Lino Print
Today is Father's Day in the UK and I am wishing my amazing dad a very happy day!
For his gift this year I made a small portrait of him in lino. Here are some photos of the making of the print and the final artwork.
It is currently somewhere between Melbourne and Scotland and not with him yet....whoops! But soon to be with him hopefully!

Preparing the Lino
I'm getting a new piece of Lino ready for my next project. Sometimes I sand the surface to remove any imperfections before I transfer the image, especially if printing large area of black.

'Teapot One (Dark Grey)'
‘Teapot One (Dark Grey)’ is a limited edition, hand made, original lino relief print.
This print was inspired by two of my favourite things – tea and patterns! I drink tea all the time and have a small collection of teapots in my home.
This is a limited edition of 10 prints in dark grey ink. Each print has the edition number (ie 1/10), the title and my signature.
Paper size is approximately 35 x 49cm, and the printed teapot is approximately 20 x 29cm.
This artwork is printed on high quality white Fabriano Rosapina paper (60% cotton rag content), and is printed with professional water based Graphic Chemical Company inks.
I drew the teapot design by hand in my sketchbook first. The print was created by carefully hand carving the design onto the surface of the lino block. After the carving is complete, I hand mix and roll the ink onto the surface of the lino block. Using my printing press in my studio at home, prints are made by placing the printmaking paper on top of the inked lino block and this ‘sandwich’ is hand pulled through the press to create the print.

Test Printing 'Vegemite'
I have been test printing tonight and am pretty happy so far with the results. Just a few more little cuts to make, then I can edition this!
I am also planning on doing a multi block edition print with this image too - with something patterned in the background. I'm not sure what yet, but watch this space!
