On Wednesday this week I went to see the truly amazing Anna Calvi at The Corner in Melbourne. The show left me in complete awe of her. She was so good...honestly, I'm not sure how to describe it with only words! She is a bit like an opera rock singer that plays electric guitar like a harp, that looks like a vampire flamenco dancer. I first listened to Anna Calvi because I read somewhere that Nick Cave was a fan of her stuff, so I thought I would check her out. I can see why he liked her...she's kind of a bit dark and sexy just like Mr Cave.
I think that she has a standard uniform for performing...red shirt, black trousers, red lipstick and hair slicked back. She's cool!
